“The UN–IRIM” MODEL

MUN-IRIM

The State Institute of International Relations of Moldova (IRIM) organizes the annual simulation of the United Nations sittings. The UN model is a conference based on intellectual game theory during which students simulate the activity of the UN.

The UN Model participants are students playing the role of delegates and observers, the official representatives of UN member countries who are invited to the conference to discuss the issues that are on the committee’s agenda.
In the UN Model sitting, the delegates expose an official position of the state they represent. Drafting the resolution is the last phase of the proceedings; the final document is worked out only if the interests of all the member-countries are taken into account on the principle of compromise.
