Study Programs

Teaching activity in Moldova Institute of International Relations (IRIM) is organized in accordance with the Law on Education of the Republic of Moldova, decisions and orders of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova, decisions and orders of the IRIM Senate and Rector.

The IRIM study process is managed by the Department of Study whose duties are the following:

  1. Organizing and providing educational process;
    2. Preparing training materials, regulations, draft orders on the organization and realization of educational process and development projects of the higher education system;
    3. Planning and organizing the training process at the IRIM, monitoring the schedule of the educational process, the timetable of lectures / seminars, colloquia and examinations, including the distribution of classrooms;
  2. Analysis of study plans and syllabuses, the activity plans of the departments and individual plans of teachers, as well as monitoring of their fulfillment;
    5. Promotion and encouragement of the implementation of new forms and technologies for assessing knowledge and skills;
    6. Control over the labor discipline, conduct of educational process, organization of symposia and examinations;
    7. Aid on the part of scientific-methodological commissions of faculties and departments in order to improve the educational process and raise efficacy in the training of specialists;
  3. Organization of seminars on the implementation of new training methods;
    9. Assistance from the part of the dean’s offices in the training and educational process, particularly in the coordination and assessment of group heads regarding to putting into practice the instructive and educational measures in academic groups.

Control of the educational process quality
    In agreement with deans, Department of Study organizes and participates in study quality control process by:
• assumption of responsibility for ensuring teaching methodology and high technology;
• contribution to the implementation and use of new teaching technologies in educational process;
• mobilization of deans and heads of departments to conduct educational process by quality control, effective sitting in, and ensuring methodical and technical education process;
• monitoring of the elaboration of curriculum;
• timely preparation of statistical reports, information and materials requested by higher level bodies;
• analysis of the state control on the organization of educational process, quality of lessons, the effectiveness of the reciprical sitting in from the part of dean’s offices and chairs.

Records of Student Contingent Movement

Department of Study together with  deans:
• supervises and directs admission, organizes various activities for professional orientation among young people;
• develops regulations and instructions on organizing admission to the institute;
• advertises during the term of admission (publishing methodological materials, guides etc.);
• monitors the movement of  contingent of students (expulsion, re-enrolment, an academic   leave, transfers to other higher institutions according to monthly reports submitted to the dean’s office and
• compiles  monthly reports for the faculties.

Cycle II – Master Studies

 Moldova Institute of International Relations is authorized to conduct MA studies in the following specializations:

• Specialized Translation and Techniques of Terminological Documentation

 Master studies at the IRIM are based on the following major objectives:

1) Professional training of highly qualified specialists in the fields of political science, international
relations, diplomacy, international trade, business and administration, international law, customs
law, business law, criminal law, specialized translation and techniques of terminological
2) Development of capacities for investigation, study and research in the fields of political science and
international relations, as well as development of  skills and competencies in translation/
/specialized  interpretation in English and French.

Organization of Study at Master Level:

Specialized postgraduate masters study proceeds as a full-time education, with funding from the state budget or on contract basis, with the fee for studies.
– Duration is 2 years – specializations are the following: Political Analysis, Diplomatic Studies, European Studies, International Trade, Business and Administration, and while duration of studies is 1.5 years , the  specializations are the following: International Law, Customs Law, Business Law, and Criminal Law.
– Admission to Master studies is only for holders of bachelor degrees.
– Master studies begin on 1 October.
– Specialized Master Education finishes with handing in the Diploma of Master and obtaining the title of Master in political science, specializing in Policy Analysis, Diplomatic Studies, European Studies; Master in Economics, specializing in International Trade, Business and Administration; Master in Law, specializing in International Law, Customs Law, Business Law, Criminal Law; Master in Social Sciences, specializing in Technical Translation and Techniques of Terminological Documentation.

– The entire instructive, educational, theoretic and practical process is organized and conducted on its integration with scientific research.
